KC Series - Magnetic Driven Centrifugal Pump
Polypropylene and PVDF
|
| The Finish Thompson KC Series pump was
introduced in 1990 and has become known for dependable service life and excellence in
engineering design. All KC Series pumps are seal less magnetic driven horizontal
centrifugal pumps. Pumps are constructed with polypropylene or carbon filled KynarŽ
(PVDF) Key features of
the KC pumps is the usage of Neodymiun rare earth magnets. They are
compact in size and weight and strong in magnetic attraction. Using smaller
and lighter magnets provides pump designs allow; the usage of standard torque electric
motors, lower weight impeller magnets requiring less support, and compact pump size
designs. All KC pumps are standard with high density carbon bushings and ceramic
support shaft. The usage of carbon allows the pump to run dry for up to 24 hours
without damage to the pump. For applications that carbon is not compatible,
ceramic or PTFE bushing can be provided. Four different size groups provide complete flow rate
coverage from 5 GPM to 200 GPM. For additional information see below.

* Actual motor horse power
selection is determined by the specific gravity of the liquid. Please advise us of
actual liquid flow conditions and solution density for our recommendation.
Note: Information for this
pump using IEC motors and performance curves for 50 Hertz are available upon request.
Note: Impeller bushing
- Carbon bushing will allow the pump to run dry for short periods of time
without damage caused by friction between the impeller bushing and the ceramic
spindle. Some chemicals such as chromic or bleach will attack
carbon. Abrasive solutions will cause wear of the carbon bushing.
Teflon and ceramic are options that could be considered -- however sever damage
will occur to the pump if these bushing are used and the pump is run dry.
