MDF-M is a family of compact; efficient magnetic drive pumps designed to meet the demanding needs of industrial applications and the process industries. Two types of fluororesin materials are available for all wetted parts (ETFE and PFA) to accommodate the majority of applications. Consider these important, value-added features:

High corrosion resistance. ETFE is the standard material for all wetted parts. PFA may be specified for higher temperature applications.

Excellent for high-purity chemicals. PFA offers superb corrosion resistance for high-purity chemical applications.

Compact design. Using rare earth (samarium cobalt) magnets and integrally molding the impeller and inner magnet assembly, MDF-M offers a more compact design.

Easy maintenance and inspection. MDF-M’s structure is simple, and uses a minimum number of parts. Major parts are modular for quick, easy disassembly and inspection. Bearings and thrust collars are individually replaceable.

  1. Front Casing - Ductile Iron for strength and durability.  Teflon lining protects against corrosion
  2. Containment Shell. A double structure offering extra protection, the containment shell is backed up with a glass-fiber-reinforced (GFRPPS) nonmetallic cover to help prevent deformation of the containment shell and eliminate eddy current loss.
  3. Casing Liner - ETFE or PFA
  4. Bearing. Both High Density Carbon and SiC are offered as bearing bushing materials. Press fitting of the bearing allows individual replacement.
  5. Shaft. Both High Purity Alumina Ceramic and SiC are used as standard bearing materials. The bearings can be replaced individually.
  6. Thrust Collar - Silicon Carbide for superior wear and corrosion resistance.
  7. Impeller/Inner Magnet Assembly. Integrally molding the impeller and inner magnet, MDF-M offers improved efficiency and hydraulics.
  8. Outer Magnet - Rare earth Samarium Cobalt
  9. Casing Gasket - PTFE confined gasket

MDF-M Features & Benefits

  • Two material choices – ETFE or PFA -- PFA increases the maximum pump temperature to 248° F.
  • Replaceable front casing liner -- ETFE front casing liner is field replaceable to reduce user parts costs.
  • Choice of carbon vs. ceramic or SiC vs. SiC bearing and spindle -- Cost effective application a wide range of applications.
  • Bearing flush grooves -- Increases the flush rate through the bearings to provide longer service life.
  • Integral thrust surfaces --Extends service life by offering protection of integral parts during off-peak operation.
  • Close coupled design -- Reduces the installation space requirements.--Reduces pump weight
  • FRP rear casing cover -- Provides an extra level of reinforcement for the containment shell
  • Drive magnet removal w/o breaking a line pressure seal -- Allows users to perform a visual inspection of the containment shell while the pump is installed into the piping system.
  • Somarium cobalt magnets -- Eliminates the need for soft start motors.
