Motors for Drum Pump Tubes Air and Electric
Lutz drum pump or mixers are are combined with the correct
motor to form a unit. Motor selection is a function of the environment that the unit
will be used. Open drip motors are often selected for closed top drum even when
pumping corrosive chemicals. TEFC and explosion proof motors are selected for more
hazardous services. |
B28 - Open drip-proof motor.
- 120 volt, 800 watt, 60Hz. On/off switch with
single-pole thermal over current release.
- Not suitable for hazardous duty.

B36/B36SC - Open drip-proof motor.-
Thermoplastic motor cover
- 120 volt, 640 watt, 60HZ. Optionally with or without
speed controller. On/off switch with single-pole thermal over current release. Double
insulated.
- Not suitable for hazardous duty.
- Operating data with MSL pump tube:
- Quantity: up to 54.5 GPM
- Viscosity: up to 1000 CPS

B55-T - TEFC Motor
- 120 volt, 60Hz, power input 510 watt, on/off switch
with single-pole thermal over current release,
- T.E.F.C. splash-proof in accordance with protection
class IP 54, double insulation with protective ground connection.
- For very aggressive atmospheres an acid-proof motor is
available.
- Operating data with MSL pump tubes:
- Quantity: up to 48 GPM
- Viscosity: up to 1000 CPS
B55-T-7 - TEFC Motor
- Same features as above with 700
watt (.93 HP)
- Recommended for solutions with
greater that 1.4 Sp. Gr.

Silver Star - MEI 6 - Explosion Proof
- 120 volt, 620 watt, 1/2 HP, 60Hz. U.L. Listed Class I,
Groups C and D. Class II, Group F and G. Explosion-proof. (Use MEII for 220V/50 Hz.)
- Low voltage shut-off. Motor is supplied with
16-ft. power cable. Explosion proof plug not included. Remote operating kit
available as an option.
- A light, easily handled explosion-proof motor
for almost all types of thin bodied, slightly viscous and flammable liquids.
- Operating data with MSL pump tubes:
- Quantity: up to 49 GPM
- Viscosity: up to 1100 CPS
- Examples of liquid pumped are acetone,
petrol/gasoline, solvents, oils, acids, lyes, ammonium chloride, photographic developers
etc.
Warning: Stainless steel or Hastelloy C metal pump
tubes and grounding kits must be used in explosion proof conditions. Static
electricity will build from the movement of the liquid and MUST BE GROUNDED ! |

MD - Explosion Proof Air MotorRecommend for
hazardous duty - includes grounding terminal. Protection class in accordance with
standard EN 50014.
Compressed-air driven motor with a power output of
approx. 300 watt at 87 PSI operating pressure and a speed of 6900 RPM, air consumption
approx. 17 CFM. With sound absorber and earth connection.
Performance with MSL pump tubes
- Quantity: up to 48 GPM
- Viscosity: up to 1200 CPS
Applications: Compressed air driven drum and
container pumps for thin-bodied, neutral, aggressive and inflammable liquids.
