CV is an engineering unit use to calculate the
pressure drop through a valve at a given flow rate. A CV
of 8.0 would mean that 8.0 GPM would produce a 1 PSI pressure drop. The pressure drop
increases by the square of the increase in flow. A 16 GPM flow would produce a 4 PSI
pressure drop, 32 GPM would produce a 16 PSI drop. Calculations are assuming a fluid
