Diverter or Sampling Valves -- Use as 2 inlets or 2 outlets Three Way Valve Design: Valve is ordered with either a two-hole or three-hole ball. The two-hole ball switches from one inlet (or outlet) to the other, with a momentary no-flow condition. The three-hole ball ensures that flow is uninterrupted, with a momentary mixing of flow from the two ports. It is suggested that you specify the two-hole ball if you want to prevent the two streams from mixing, and specify the three-hole ball if you are concerned about dead-heading with a momentary no-flow condition. If you are unsure, you are invited to contact our Technical department for assistance at (219) 736-0060 ![]() The bottom trunnion design element is accomplished via a circular thermoplastic sleeve fitted into the bottom hole of the ball. This sleeve locks the ball into the base of the valve, much like the typical trunnion found in the True Blue 2-way valve. After over two decades of proven design superiority, Plast-O-Matic remains the only industrial thermoplastic ball valve manufacturer to employ the trunnion principle. "Blocking" type ball valves, no matter how well designed, will result in uneven strain on the ball and shaft as they are tightened and especially during flow & pressure conditions -- a misaligned ball eventually causes leaks. The trunnion design, on the other hand, assures a perfectly aligned ball. |
