Sealless Magnet Driven
Submersible
World's
first entirely corrosion resistant non-metallic
magnetic drive sealless submersible pump
Constructed
of Polypropylene (carbon fiber reinforced) with a
PVC encased power cord. Perfect for most low viscosity acids,
caustics, bleaches and waterlike fluids compatible with polypropylene.
Magnetic
"NO SEAL" coupling
Ferrite
magnets and an engineered ceramics eliminate the
most common reason for pump failures. Air filled
motor and liquid chambers are completely separate.
No oil in motor to leak into
pumpage - Cannot add air to liquid - no contamination.
Light in
weight
construction and easy handling for emergency
situations -
Small 10" x 15" footprint
Pump
weight is 57.3lbs. (26 kg) for the YD-502/512GW.
With an easy grip handle, it can be transported
quickly in emergency situations. Preparation for
operation is as easy as placing it in the tank to
be used. 2" NPT discharge on all models.
Powerful Motor
with a
built-in thermal protector
The 1 1/2 HP motor with
thermal over-load protector Automatic
shutdown if pump exceeds temperature or electrical
limits. Supplied with 16 foot PVC encased
power cord - 32 foot overall length - 230V or 460V -3 phase.
2" Discharge
for flow rates to 80 GPM
Standard impeller is suitable for
solution specific gravity to 1.1. Impeller is trimmed to handle
specific gravities to 1.50. High flow impellers (Model 502) or
higher pressure impellers (Model 512). See below for performance
curves.
High Temperature
Limits
Motor suitable for liquid up to
167oF with High
Temperature cord.
Extremely
user friendly design
Pump
inspection, maintenance and parts replacement are
quick and simple. Silicon carbide and engineered
ceramics and RulonR make this a very reliable pump
to stand up under harsh conditions.

Principles
of the Magnetic Drive Submersible:
Impeller
and motor coupling is accomplished by the use of
ferrite magnets encapsulated within the
polypropylene impeller and attached to the motor
drive. Pumped fluid is kept from contacting the
motor by an engineered ceramic plate, capable of
handling a wide range of liquids. Because the
plate is non-metallic, no heat is added due to
eddy current losses. Under normal operation the
impeller does not come in contact with the
ceramic plate, but rather thrusts forward to the
suction side, running on the front bushing.
Solids
slurries and air are centrifugally forced to the
outer casing and ejected through the discharge
pipe.
Normal
maintenance requires easy replacement of 2 Rulon™
(ETFE) bushings. If abrasives are present an optional
ceramic bushing is available. Stationary
spindle is SilCarbide.
All
motors for new GW series pumps are
heat-resistant up to 167°F (75 °C). High
temperature power cord used for solutions over 130°F.
