Penguin PM Series Mixer
Penguin offer economical mixers using a high
shear type propeller. The usage of high speed drive motors at 1750 RPM, produces
rapid solution movement while utilizing smaller diameters. The mixer shaft is
a direct driven from the motor. The combination produces a lower cost mixer suitable
for most applications that solution shear is not a concern.

Mounting
- Clamp Mount - allows the mixer to be mounted on the
tank side wall or another vertical surface. The bracket (pictured) allows for
adjustment of the propeller for maximum efficiency.
- Bracket Mount - provides a sturdy CPVC plate for
mounting the mixer on a cover or other flat surface.
- Thread Mount - a 2" PVC nipple is provided to
direct mount in the bung hole (pictured) of a drum or other 2" FNPT connection such
as a bulkhead fitting. This is usually combined with the 2" diameter turbine
propeller.
- Flange Mount - offers a companion flange to the above
for mounting in a cover or other flat surface.
Propeller construction
- CPVC Turbine - for mounting through a 2" opening
- Polypro Propeller - available in 3" or 4"
diameter
- 316SS Propeller - available in 3", 4" or
5" diameter
- Dual Propellers - available as required
Shaft
- All shafts and couplings are 316SS - 1/2 or
5/8"diameter
- Option - the shaft can be sleeved in polypro
(only with the polypro propeller)
- Length - Maximum determined by motor horsepower - see
below.

Mixer Sizing Data - The following is
useful general mixing of liquids within a tank - Consult if using for powders of viscous
liquids above 100 Cp. For efficient mixing, the recommended tank turn over rate is
6 to 10 turns per hour - the gallon per hour mixing time for each impeller is listed in
the chart below. The horsepower for the motor is determined by the specific gravity
of the solution - the required horsepower would be the result of water horsepower
(required) times the specific gravity. The shape of the tank determines a
requirement for dual impellers - use dual impellers if height of the tank is greater that
the diameter (or longest side in the case of a square or rectangular shaped tank).
