Notes regarding options and redesign options available for Penguin Model P-3 and P-5 - CPVC, Polypro or PVDF construction. As Standard Keyed impeller and keyed motor shaft - This changed the drive shape of the motor/impeller from a square shape to a key way and key drive. This incorporated a stainless steel insert being molded into the impeller for improved torque strength of the impeller. The metal insert is visible inside of the impeller when the impeller nut is removed from the assembled pump. Pumps with this feature will be indicated with a ‘K’ on the end of the Pump’s model number I.E.: P-5AK, impeller and motor part numbers will also end with the letter ‘K’. The shaft key is part number P-300-15. The date of this change was August 93. As an option The square drive impeller and motor are still available at this time - please specify with the letters SD on the end of model number and part numbers. This is a no price change option. As standard The pump bracket has changed in shape and dimension. The standard bracket for P-3 and P-5 is now a 12" x 12" by 1 1/2" thick bracket. This change facilitates mounting the pump to a tank lip or tank cover. This replaced a round bracket that is 9" diameter. This bracket can be field or factory trimmed to 10" x 10" upon request. The date of this change was mid year 1997. As an option The above round bracket is still available both as a pump or a spare part. To indicate, precede the part or model number with the letters ‘RB’ (round base). This is a no price change option. As an option The rectangular base design can incorporated the discharge piping through the bracket. The bracket dimension is 12" x 15.3" x 1 ½" thick. The pump discharge piping will be 2" MNPT and will extend 3" above the top of the bracket. Specify discharge piping when this option is use for the pump and replacement pump housing by adding the letter ‘DP’ to the end of the model or part number. This is an extra charge option.
